About Us

We’re a female-founded digital magazine that specializes in bringing light to the underground. From up-and-coming musical and visual artists to indie films and self-publishing authors, we give a voice to those who are lesser known.

This magazine was conceived from the minds of two recent college grads—once Editors-in-Chief of their university newspaper and widely respected on campus—who suddenly found themselves severely unemployed and at the bottom of the job market. With nowhere left to turn, they took matters into their own hands. And so, The Underground Edit was born.

Taylor Memoli / Editor-in-Chief

Co-founder of The Underground Edit, Taylor is a writer and alumna of Monmouth University. Her work has been seen in the Monmouth Review, ephemeras Magazine, The Pop Break, and The Outlook, with selections in the International Screenwriting Competition and the Screen Power Film Festival. Most of her time is spent writing at her uneven desk with her dog, Pepper, and giving lousy Letterboxd reviews.

Francesca Creavey / Music Editor

Francesca is a singer and writer from Northeast Pennsylvania. Over the years, she has contributed to various online publications, focused on news, arts, and pop culture. Francesca has also had poetry published in multiple anthologies, with work currently featured in LCTA’s Poetry In Transit 2025 initiative. She’s most passionate about music, culture, literature, and lattes.

Gabrielle Sangataldo / Editor-in-Chief

Another co-founder of The Underground Edit, Gabrielle is an entertainment journalist and ’24 graduate of Monmouth University who lives for music, books, and her ferret, Dave. Her work has been seen in Trill Mag, The Pop Break, CultureSonar, VUE NJ, VUE Long Island, The Outlook, and the Monmouth Review. She thrives on strong opinions, playlists that make her feel like she’s in a movie, and Nerds Sweet Tarts Ropes.
