At six years old, Eerie Please took the first steps in her music career when she first head Blink-182, whose instrumentals inspired her to play guitar. Subsequently, she was given an acoustic by her grandfather and started taking courses.
Eerie’s music style has evolved throughout the years, spanning different genres like American pop punk and emo. Eventually, she began listening to more classical songs, and through them, she discovered synthesizer-filled music through the partying scene.
“Around seventeen is when I got into synthesizer-filled music,” she explained. “I started partying, and that’s how the party scene [sounds]. [My music] has changed a lot throughout time.”
This sparked Eerie’s love for digital synthesizers. In her opinion, a synthesizer can be incredibly versatile because you can create your sound and even notice distinct dreamy vibes. Alongside software synthesizers, she uses drum machines.
“I was learning how to produce music, and I really wanted to craft an eerie type of sound without it being too ominous,” she said. “So everything was more pop, and I remember that I talked to myself a lot when I’m creating something. I was messing around with a bunch of synthesizers, and I was like, ‘I need to make this eerie. Make this eerie, please.’” This “eerie” type of sound she wanted to create inspired her own musical name.
Once Eerie began writing music, she took inspiration from many creative corners such as indie bands like Chromatics, electronic and synth pop bands like The Knife, and mainstream pop like Lady Gaga. Additionally, she loves film soundtracks, specifically the Suspiria (1977) soundtrack by Goblin.
Eerie looks to poetry to draw inspiration beyond the musical realm. She even admits that for the past six years, she has read poetry every morning; Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, and Virginia Woolf being some of her favorites. While recording her upcoming EP, The Matter Of Nature, she was reading To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, a source of assistance when she needed inspirations for her verses. Movies also act as a source of inspiration, her favorite being Fallen Angels by Wong Kar-wai.

Sharing your work as an independent artist can be complicated, as many contemporary artists have turned to TikTok to promote their art. However, Eerie doesn’t see it as a problem but rather as a welcome challenge.
“I’ve been trying to understand who my target audience is, because I want to build a community of fans. I’m excited because I think I make beautiful things and I want to share that with people,” she said. “Having to navigate the algorithm and figure out how to communicate with your audience without having anyone to help… I would say that’s my biggest challenge.”
Her upcoming sophomore EP, The Matter Of Nature, is rooted in her first EP, Lover’s Eye, released in 2021. As she was starting to promote her first EP, she was invited to perform at a gig. She didn’t have enough songs and realized she would have to rely on covers. Since then, Eerie started developing her sound and music before she put herself out there for a second time.
A moment she remembers from her first EP is how a music reviewer described her sound. It was exactly the vibe she was looking for.
“It’s like going to your high school prom, and you’re standing alone in a dance floor. You look to the other side of the room, and your high school crush is there, lights in their eyes, and arms extended toward you,” she described.
For The Matter Of Nature, the setting and vibes are drastically different. It still contains elements of nostalgia, but it is not as naive. The first song of the EP is angry, as it was written in a period where she found herself angry in her life.
“You’re at a small bar, it’s dimly lit. There is a jukebox in a very small dance floor, then someone who’s heartbroken goes to the jukebox and puts on a song that makes them remember their ex,” she explained as the vibe for her new EP.
Eerie expressed how one day she dreams of going on tour following the release of this new EP, one that contains New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and all of the main cities in all possible venues. She hopes for this in addition to her ambitions of working alongside a team that can both help her music project and explore her creative endeavors.
For the near feature, her goal is to build a community of fans. She also wants to attract her target audience to share her vision of the world with people. She hopes her music makes people feel something very strongly.
“I want my music to make them remember a special moment in their lives, whether joyful or painful. Like when you listen to a song, and you feel something in your chest,” she said.
Eerie Please’s music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and anywhere you stream music. Her new EP The Matter Of Nature comes will be released in November 2025.
